Life Lately: My Third-Trimester

This journey to motherhood is not easy but it doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. I am now in my third trimester. My stomach is getting heavy so as my weight.  So far, my baby’s weight is ideal for 32 weeks. Now that I am in my third trimester, I am more careful of what I eat. I avoid sweets as much as I can. It’s really hard for me but I try to be good for baby and I. If you want to read my second-trimester experience just click here or my first trimester here
I already have trouble sleeping because it takes me awhile to get comfortable. Added to that is the endless trips to the bathroom because I need to pee. I am also getting sick of my maternity clothes. I didn’t buy a lot because I know I’ll only use them for a while. I decided to just save the money for baby stuff, which I think is a good idea.
The exciting part of being in the third trimester is that I get to shop for baby clothes because we already know the gender of our baby. Well, technically, we already know we are having a boy even before my 2nd-trimester ends but it just feels right to shop when I am less than 3 months away from giving birth. Besides, shopping is one form of exercise for expecting mom. My mind is also clearer at this stage of my pregnancy than in the previous months.
I took my time to research online for vendors that sell affordable baby stuff. I also took the liberty of asking mothers around me for advice on what to buy. I don’t want to spend so much on baby stuff that my baby will not use for a long period of time. Might as well save the money for those things he’s really going to need when he’s finally born.
Another thrill of being in the third-trimester is that my baby’s movements are becoming more and more noticeable. I can tell if my baby is kicking or punching. My doctor advised me to count my baby’s kicks, to make sure he’s giving me at least 10 kicks per day. But honestly, I don’t count because my baby moves a lot, so I don’t feel it’s necessary. True, there were days when my baby rarely moves, which sometimes scare the hell out of me, but then I’ll talk to him and he’ll satisfy mommy by giving me lots of kicks.
We also underwent congenital anomaly scan. It’s the processes wherein the doctor will check all the vital organs of the baby to make sure he has everything intact. I am happy to report that baby is in perfect condition. Generally, the baby and I are in good health and I can’t be happier. I am a little bit nervous because I am only a month and a half away from giving birth but I know I can do it and it’s all going to be worth it.
Furthermore, I am excited to finally see and hold our first born. I’ll report back to you as soon as I can. I have a couple for post lined-up related to pregnancy and becoming a first-time mom. Thanks for being here!
