Christmas Tag 2017

A few days before December, I have this crazy idea to blog every day 12 days leading to Christmas. As if I am not a busy mom. I tried to research and brainstorm ideas. In the end, I came up with nine, including this post today. Obviously, I am not going to push through with the plan. Maybe next year when I have enough time to prepare. I just think it will be fun on my part to challenge myself like that. I am really enjoying blogging nowadays. I wish I still have the motivation next year.

Let's get a little personal shall we? If you are up for it and want to get to know me more, grab your hot cocoa or coffee and join me in answering this Christmas Tag questions. Nobody tags me to do this though. I tagged myself. That's a thing. Don't judge me!

Since I already have this Christmas Tag on my list of Christmas blog post ideas, I decided to just go ahead and post this. This is my blog after all and I am free to do whatever I want. I just found this set of questions lurking around the web. Okay! Enough rambling lets' start answering. Oh cool, that rhyme!

1. What is your favorite Christmas film?
The Holiday! I love to watch Christmas movies, in fact, I have a small collection on my hard drive but The Holiday gives me all the Christmas feels! If Iris' little English house does not put you in Christmas spirit, I don't know what will!

Recently, I also watched the Wish for Christmas movie and I really think it's a good movie to watch this season. It reminds us the true meaning of Christmas and that is the celebration of Jesus' birth.

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?

I live in the tropics, so no! Haven't got a chance to travel where there is snow either. Hopefully, one day!

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?

At home! We spend Christmas Eve at my parents' house though and Christmas day at my husband's side of the family.

4. What is your favorite Christmas song?

Christmas in our Hearts by Jose Mari Chan and Give Love on Christmas Day!

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Yes. My side of the family exchange and open gifts on Christmas eve. My eldest sister always makes fun of my father. She usually gives him something funny first before the actual gift. Sometimes, we make fun of my sister too and do the same to her. Give all of us a good laugh when we open presents. I have the best family. Just saying!

6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Nope! I should though because I love Santa.

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

The Noche Buena. Like I said, we always spend Christmas at my parents' house and my mom is a great cook! I also love that I get to spend it with my siblings, nieces, and nephews and now with my husband and son!

I am also excited about the traditions my husband and I are going to adapt to our little family. I will share those traditions here soon. It's part of my Christmas blog post ideas.

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake. But we didn't put it up this year. It's my dream to have a real Christmas tree. I thought it's not possible in our country but I was wrong. One of the moms I follow on Instagram got a real Christmas tree from S&R. My mind was blown! I didn't know they sell real Christmas tree there. Am I the only one? I bet it's expensive!

9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?

The traditional bibinka and puto-bumbong.

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

I honestly, like both. I love to shop for gifts. I also enjoy wrapping them. At the same time, I also get excited to receive gifts from family and friends!

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

This is tough. I think every material gift I received, big or small, were really special. But if I am allowed to say the non-material thing, that would be my son! He's the greatest gift God has ever given me!

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
There is a reason I love The Holiday movie. I dream of someday celebrating Christmas in one of the traditional English homes in the UK. I also dream of visiting The Wizarding Wolrd of Harry Potter in Florida around the holidays. May all our dreams come true. Hehe..

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I think I am a pro. I love wrapping presents! If I have a lot of money, I would probably spend more on gift wrapping paraphernalia than the actual gift. I kind of showcase how I wrap presents in this post. Also, you can get some ideas on how to save money this Christmas when buying gifts on that same post.

14. Most memorable Holiday moment?

Our first Christmas as husband and wife. We were still on LDR then. We got married November 8th and my husband spent Christmas Eve here. We haven't spent Christmas for several years before that so it was so special for both of us.  However, his flight back abroad was the night of December 25th.  That was also the saddest Christmas Night ever. I will never forget that. Both the happy Christmas eve and the sad Christmas night. But all is well now. We get to spend Christmas together every year it's even better because we have our son with us!

15. When did you realize the truth about Santa?

I feel like I kinda knew all along. Haha... I can't remember!

16. Do you make New Year's resolutions? Do you stick to them?

Yes. In the past, I’ve made resolutions that of course, I didn't stick to. Now, I just make attainable goals that sometimes I still fail to fulfill. But the good thing about goals is that you can keep working on them until you finally achieve them. You can even extend the timetable if need be (to be honest, no one will question you why you are extending the timetable, so just do it if you need to!). As long as you are working hard for it, you will eventually get it.

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

I get to spend it with the people I love. My husband is always on vacation during the Holidays. He works graveyard, so sometimes we don't get to spend as much time together. So I love that he's always around during the Holidays. I am also grateful that I have an amazing family and in-laws! They make the holidays so much special!

18. If you are going to give a gift to just one person who will it be?

This is easy! If I could only give a gift to one person, I will give it to my son because he is so special and I just love shopping for him.

19. Who is your favorite Christmas character?

Santa Claus! I love the idea of having a real Santa. Too bad he is not real!

20. You have been granted one Christmas wish…what will it be?

Peace on Earth! Don't laugh. Although, I would understand if you did. Anyway, it's really is what I pray for every night. The world is becoming a scary place to live in with all the terrorist attacks, rapes,  murders, domestic violence and so much cruelty here and there. Now that I have a son, I feel like he deserves to live in a peaceful and wonderful world. I worry that the world might get worse as he grows old. I pray not! You can't blame a mom for praying all the good things for her child. So yeah, if I were to get a Christmas wish come true, I will ask for world peace!

There you have it, friends! I hope you enjoyed getting to know your mama here a little bit more! If you decided to answer these Christmas tag questions on your blog, let me know, I would love to read it! Thanks for being!
